Spurgeon's invitation to worship

"Oh, there is, in contemplating Christ, a balm for every wound; in musing on the Father, there is a quietus for every grief; and in the influence of the Holy Ghost, there is a balsam for every sore. Would you lose your sorrow? Would you drown your cares? Then go, plunge yourself in the Godhead's deepest sea; be lost in his immensity; and you shall come forth as from a couch of rest, refreshed and invigorated. I know nothing which can so comfort the soul; so calm the swelling billows of sorrow and grief; so speak peace to the winds of trial, as a devote musing on the subject of the Godhead."

- 20 year-old Charles Spurgeon, 1855, inviting his parishioners to worship.

Praying for each of you tonight, brothers, to know Christ and the power of his resurrection (Philippians 3:10)!

Request for prayer for students at my school

Hey guys,

I wanted to give a request for prayer. Several middle school students have taken up the task of making my lessons and teaching difficult with inappropriate and passive-aggressive behaviors.

I'd love for you to pray for the dynamics of the group of 7-8 graders to ease and become more comfortable to teach. Pray for wisdom as I approach students to discipline and fairness in its allocation, for repaired relationships, and for students to learn and enjoy their classroom time fully.

Keep your hearts ignited for the glory of God, brothers!

Mawwageee

Not so much interested in the theological point she makes, but I found this paragraph pretty amusing... Source: here "Oh, and for the record — I like James so much more than my imaginary, obnoxiously religious, youth pastor future husband. When I asked him if he had written Future Me letters as a child, he told me he was too busy memorizing Pink Floyd lyrics. But then he ran in the next room and wrote down what 14-year old James would have said in a letter to 14-year old Hannah: “I hope you’re hott.” That’s why boys didn’t get swept up in that movement… they knew the truth all along."
